Role Description

Position Title: Tech Supervisor, Medical Information Specialist

Zone / Line: Pfizer Medical, External Medical Communications (EMC) - Global Medical Information (GMI)

Location: BioLake, Wuhan

Position Purpose Is responsible for providing technical and scientific support for responding to unsolicited inquiries. These activities may include, but are not limited to researching and preparing global response document for medical inquiries, escalated inquiries handling, peer reviewing and literature services, The scope of responsibilities is Local, Regional and Global in some instances.

Organizational Relationships

  • Reports to Manager, Head of GMI Wuhan reporting to Global Lead, Content Strategy and Management in External Medical Communications within Pfizer Medical

Primary Duties:

  • Creates, maintains and review global content by ensuring that responses are medically and scientifically accurate, timely, fair balanced, and meet customers' needs

  • Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of MI work and processes as well as good understanding of other local MI stakeholders

  • Researches and analyses and summaries scientific information taking local labeling and regulatory into consideration to answer escalated MI inquiries

  • Performs high quality searches of medical literature in response to customer inquiries or as it relates to creating/updating MI document, maintains literature search pool in global platform

  • Participates to the creation/update US AMCP Dossier for assigned products

  • Understand and comply with all applicable policies, guidelines, and regulations related to the work being fulfilled (may be specific to country of origin).

  • Collaborates with Global colleagues to ensure an open exchange of product information, business intelligence and best practices

  • Provide Medical Writing Training to East Asia as well as East south Asia colleagues

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for MI on responsible product(s) and associated therapeutic area(s)Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of the MI work and processes as well as good understanding of other internal stakeholders

  • Proactively seeks new innovative solutions to improve MI processes and responses and to resolve problems

  • Participates to local and/or Regional projects/initiatives as needed

Qualification/Skills

  • BS, Masters, PhD degree in Pharmacy/Medical/Life Sciences or related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in medical information or related areas in pharmaceutical industry required

  • Possesses solid skills at critically evaluating literature and writing/summarizing clinical and scientific data

  • Exhibits strong oral and written communication skills

  • Good collaboration and interpersonal skills with local, regional and global colleagues

  • Effectively deals with ambiguity and adapts quickly to change

  • Works independently on moderately complex projects

  • Shows good mentoring or coaching skill
