Pfizer Senior Manager External Supply Operations in Tuas, Singapore
This position is responsible for managing relationship with, operations at, and performance of a portfolio of Contract Manufacturers (CMs) located globally. The position is responsible for managing multiple virtual site operating teams (VSOT) and all the people who sit in the VSOT through influence
Lead by influence and set objectives for each of the VSOT and ensure all members are fully engaged to deliver the maximum benefits for the team, the vendors and Global External Supply.
Communicate to ensure alignment within all functions across the VSOT and with other stakeholders globally. Partners with them across all time zones to achieve results
Responsible for managing/ tracking and reporting the performance of his/her VSOT's and taking appropriate actions to correct and shortfalls in performance vs PGS value proposition of supply/cost/quality.
Work closely with other Operations Managers, Supply Chain Planners, ESQ, EHS, GTE, Procurement, CMC,Finance,GSC and Customers at Business Units and Markets.
Develop and manage implementation of strategic and tactical plans to secure timely supply of product and achieve cost targets as well as all other targets of the ES Balanced Scorecard
Responsible for managing the financial resources and delivering the financial plan of his/her VSOT. Ensure the continuous short and long term supply of API's from 3rd party CMOs.
Responsible for managing all technical details of the multiple projects across several time zones and impacting multiple sites and countries.
Strongly contributes to the development and execution of the overall ES Virtual Site strategy for CM portfolio development and cost reduction
Lead the development and execution of manufacturing and supply plans to ensure the continuous short- and long-term supply of API's from CMOs.
Collaborate with EHS to ensure CMO compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations and Pfizer requirements
Collaborate with the CMO leadership to ensure any areas of conflict get resolved in a timely manner and escalate to senior management as appropriate if required
As this is a global role, the position requires 20 - 25% travel of full week travel (primarily across Europe and Asia)
Project P&L (profit & loss)
Maintaining satisfactory customer service to SCM, Pfizer API sites and DP sites
Establishing and maintaining good project documentation
Delivering the BSC metrics
Management of the VSOT (motivating and ensuring engagement of the VSOT)
Responsible for the relationship with, and the performance of the CMs in his/her area of responsibility. Short-term tactics as well as long-term strategies with the CMs must secure that every CM contributes to achieving the ES BSC targets and strategic objectives. Setting the objectives for the VSOT and managing the VSOT through influence
Lead Virtual Site Operations Teams (VSOTs). Accountable for the results of the VSOT including delivering on the financial/ cost and supply commitments of the VSOT.
Manage the cost reduction program:
Project management (as assigned)
Maintain awareness of potential new sourcing opportunities and identify strategic sourcing partners who share common vision/values with PGS. Maintain awareness of trends within contractors and awareness of the industry.
Secure compliance with Legal Requirements of the "Foreign Corruption Policy Act" (FCPA") and related other legislation as directed by the relevant Pfizer Corporate Policies. The Operations Manager is accountable for appropriate documentation of compliance with all requirements.
Timely and successful completion of all projects and assignments
Financial performance against the budget, Meet CIP targets and product cost reduction
Customer satisfaction, e.g. SCM, Pfizer API and DP sites.
Maintaining project documentation to satisfy SOX audit requirements
Supply performance: meet the target set for the ES BSC
Quality: no rejects or recalls due to contract manufacturer errors.
Interact with Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, EHS, Procurement, GTE while managing VSOT
Have wider interactions with PPL's BSL's, GCMC, GSC
Talk to support Pfizer internal sites
Interact with CMO leadership teams
Educational / Experience Required :
- Minimum Bachelor degree (Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Pharmacy or Chemistry); Masters, PhD and/or MBA preferred
Other Job Related Requirements :

Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical API manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements

10 to 15 years' experience as Operations Manager in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Operations, API Technology Services, External Supply, Procurement
Project Management experience is also highly desirable
