Pfizer Director, Technical Services in Tuas, Singapore
The Technical Services Director will be responsible for leading the Process Development and Technology Team resulting in an improvedScientific and technical understanding of API manufacuring that result in improved business results across the entire portfolio of Producted manufactured in Pfizer, Tuas API site.
The team consists of a diverse and multidisciplinary Team of Process Development Scientists, Development Chemists, Analytical Scientists and Development Technologists, that will support and continuously improve all facets of Manufacturing, Technology, ETP and Solvent Recovery operating groups.
The role will entail developing a sustainable business strategy that can predict and respond to changes in Science and Technology thus ensuring that the team's extertise and technical capability sustain, not only, the sites current needs but also it's future needs on an ongoing basis.
Create a Chemistry centre of excellence utilizing the lab equipment, analytical techniques, new technologies and PAT to increase technical depth and product knowledge and build up the internal capability to ensure we keep abreast of all new Technologies and novel techniques and try to incorpate them into day to day operions to improve Business results
Implement robust systems for ensuring product and process knowledge management is kept current and readily accessible
Ensure the key site systems and processes for delivery of robust processes are embedded in the organization
Use a data driven approach to proactively identify process improvement opportunities and prevent processes issues
Technical support for routine production and process issue resolution
Lead internal Tech Transfer processes by partnering with NPI Director to ensure flawless commercialization of new Products
Lead / Project management (internal / external) of high priority cost improvement projects and targeted Next Gen project activity to meet improved COGs targets
Builds effective relationships both internal to the site and external to the Site, Externally , both within the Pfizer Network and other industry partners , academia and EBD to add value to the business
Provide a centre of Technical excellence utilizing the laboratory facilities , equipment , analytical techniques to enhance the technical depth and knowledge for both the site and the network
Ensure continuous improvement through the development of a competitiveness plan and design and implementation of innovation technical strategies to continually improve processes including promoting the use of innovation tools, PAT applications and new technologies
Technical Support for ongoing regulatory queries / responses
Responsibility for regular review of Distressed Inventory Stock and development of remediation strategy
Lead and support the needs of a diverse scientific team , nurture and develop their talent and inventiveness
Education & Experience:
PhD in chemistry or relevant discipline is preferred
At least 10 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or similar industries or related experience
At least 5 years experience in a relevant leadership position
Proven ability to communicate effectively with other functions on technical matters
Proven Ability to deliver on business targets and implement change programs in an efficient and timely manner
Proven ability to develop talent and identify improved technologies to meet the future business
