Packaging Coordinator, Clinical Supply Packaging - External Operations Location: Sandwich

Role Summary:

Clinical Supply Packaging (CSP) is part of the Medicinal Sciences Global Clinical Supply (GCS) Group. Our purpose is to provide packaging solutions based upon a commitment to reliability, trust, confidence and ease of customer interaction to deliver quality packaged clinical supplies to the patient.

The Packaging Coordinator (PC) interfaces globally with Supply Chain Leads (SCL), and all other groups within or outside the supply chain bring a packaging request to completion within CSP. The PC acts as a Project Manager to ensure that these activities are performed at third party locations within agreed to timelines and meeting the initial request parameters.

Position requires excellence in project management, supply chain management, communication and relationship building.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Providing Clinical Packaging expertise to our stakeholders, while maintaining an organizational culture that values flexibility, continuous improvement and an agility to meet business needs.

  • Work with the Supply Chain Leads to review and interpret the clinical protocol to develop practical and efficient packaging designs for Clinical Supplies. Partner with the Supply Chain Leads to generate and approve the Clinical Packaging Request.

  • Partner with the Supply Chain Leads and other work-streams to generate and approve the Clinical Label Request and ensure the Packaging Diagram contains sufficient detail regarding the packaging to be completed.

  • Coordinate and communicate multiple study packaging and/or labelling requirements across a network of global contract packaging organizations.

  • Utilize Project Management skills to plan, schedule and assess risks to complete the job.

  • Review internal/contractor packaging and labelling documents making recommendations where appropriate to ensure compliance with Clinical Supply Packaging procedures, study requirements and Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMPs).

  • Work with Inventory Management, Quality Assurance and Global Analytics to co-ordinate and drive the progress of the packaging operation to ensure timelines are met.

  • Facilitate the use of Clinical Supply Distribution System for importing packaged inventory for distribution purposes.

Qualification, Skills and Experience:

  • Life Sciences degree or equivalent with experience working in a clinical supply chain.

  • Demonstrated project management with external contractors.

  • Extensive knowledge of clinical trial designs and GMP documentation.

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills.

  • Articulate in both verbal and written communication.

  • Excellent customer focused communication and listening skills.

  • Proven interpersonal, facilitation, customer relations and negotiation skills
