What You Will Achieve

This is a laboratory-based position within the Vaccine Research and Development - Analytical GLP laboratory group. The candidate will perform routine sample testing and assay verification and qualification studies in support of early vaccine GLP toxicology studies. Assays include standard analytical separations techniques (HPLC, FA), Immunoassays (nephelometry, MSD) and spectroscopic techniques (e.g., UV-Vis).

How You Will Achieve It

  • In this position the individual will perform analytical method qualification/verification and routine sample testing in support of GLP release and stability of early phase vaccine candidates. This includes preparing samples, setting up and running the instruments, and analyzing data.

  • Document experiments, analyze data, and provide conclusions obtained from sample testing contemporaneously in notebook as directed.

  • With guidance, the individual will execute assay verification and qualification studies for GLP assays used in the release and routine analysis of vaccine candidates.

  • With guidance, draft and revise laboratory methods and reports.

  • Support assay training and transfer of methods.

  • Plan daily workflow to complete the tasks/experiments outlined by the supervisor.

  • Where applicable, perform job responsibilities in compliance with GLP requirements.

  • The individual is expected to contribute and participate in general laboratory maintenance activities (such as maintenance of equipment, managing laboratory waste).

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline plus 2 or more years of related work experience, or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline and 0-2 years of experience.

  • Experience in separation-based analytical techniques (HPLC-UV, HPLC-CAD), bioassays (PCR-based techniques, MSD, Nephelometry, Slot Blot) and spectroscopic techniques (UV-VIS.). is preferred.

  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills.

  • Motivated, detail-oriented, with good laboratory skills.

  • Standard conditions - sitting, standing

  • 40 hours per week

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
