ROLE SUMMARY

The Vice President, Activation leads a dynamic and diverse team to deliver first-in-class, purpose-led campaigns (digital and grass roots) that will shape the future of the industry.

As Vice President your role will be to oversee programs (from strategy through execution and measurement) that mobilize internal and external audiences around policies that drive Pfizer's mission. You will work across the entire business and in close collaboration with the company's Chief Digital Officer, the business units and the entire Corporate Affairs team. The position is based at the Company headquarters in New York City.

This strategic position will work closely with the Global Business Units, as well as with R&D and corporate functions. He/she will be responsible for all corporate content across our enterprise channels including its creation and implementation. The position reports to the Executive Vice President, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and is a member of the Corporate Affairs leadership team.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all elements of a successful, world class public affairs team including:

  • Strategy and planning

  • Stakeholder insight and analysis (gain a deep understanding of our stakeholders)

  • Content strategy (defining our system for content development, governance, and editorial calendar planning)

  • Campaign development and activation (including agency and partner relationships)

  • Media strategy and channel planning (helping to oversee where we show up in the media landscape and defining how we use paid, owned, earned channels to maximum effect)

  • Impact measurement (reporting in a consistent manner the impact our programs are having relative to objectives)

  • Accountable for successful execution of activation strategy that shapes the external environment in support of our existing products and the innovations emerging from our pipeline.

  • Accountable for driving a set of proactive activation initiatives that position Pfizer as the most patient-centric and global public health-focused biopharmaceutical company in the world through activation of key stakeholders.

  • Lead highly innovative team.

  • Identify, monitor key digital and grassroots engagement trends.

  • Ensure culture of innovation and ideation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in public affairs; digital communications/social media, corporate communications or public relations.

  • Significant experience in the health and/or science fields.

  • A strong, demonstrated record of achieving superior results for the business through social media and activation.

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in a fast-paced, high-exposure and highly collaborative environment.

  • Excellent people manager with proven track record of high performing teams.

  • Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills are essential.

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in working with all levels of senior management. A strong, demonstrated record of achieving superior business results in the digital environment are required.

  • Excellent presentation skills and persuasiveness are mandatory.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters' degree preferred.
