Pfizer Global Data Dissemination, Publications, and Transparency Lead in New York City, New York
The Global Data Dissemination, Publications, and Transparency Lead will set and execute Pfizer's global publications strategy for advancing the body of scientific knowledge and ensure this is done in an innovative way, coordinating activities of all parties internal and external to Pfizer to ensure timely, high quality publications. The Lead will also direct the strategic development of activities and resources in support of global transparency requirements pertaining to clinical trial registration, data sharing and disclosure, and Health Care Provider (HCP) payment/financial disclosure. This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer for Pfizer.
This is a highly visible, critical position which requires strategic thinking, leadership and exceptional communication skills.
Accountable for creating, delivering and implementing integrated strategic plans across the Global Data Dissemination, Publications and Transparency areas consistent with the overarching strategy of Worldwide Medical & Safety (WMS) and the Pfizer enterprise.
Drives Pfizer's global publications strategy and execution across Business Units, establishing a standardized and coordinated approach to publishing clinical trial results as well as important insights into Pfizer medicines and the diseases they are designed to treat or prevent.
Establishes best-in-industry standards of excellence for both quality and cycle times for presentation and publication of clinical trial results, doing so in the most efficient and cost-effective fashion possible and tailored to the importance and urgency of each situation.
Develops the tools and resources needed to communicate medical concepts and clinical trial information in ways that are relevant and meaningful for a wide array of constituents, including patients.
Acts effectively to ensure that HCP payment disclosures provide not only all required information within the allotted time frame but also includes information regarding the basis for those payments that puts these into the proper context.
Displays foresight and mental agility to rapidly adapt strategy across each of these domains based on compelling events in the scientific, clinical, regulatory, or policy landscape.
Serves as an active contributor to the WMS Leadership Team, building and developing capabilities across WMS.
Provides thought leadership on strategic issues related to the various domains of the Global Data Dissemination, Publications and Transparency platform, working closely with key stakeholders across the enterprise and beyond.
Optimizes engagement across divisions at Pfizer (WMS, Medical Affairs colleagues across Pfizer Business Units, Patient Health & Impact, Global Product Development, Corporate Affairs, Legal, Compliance and other stakeholders) that interface with the domains of the Global Data Dissemination, Publications and Transparency platform to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and identify efficiencies .
Builds and owns processes and SOPs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of data for public disclosure.
Leads and participates in cross-industry initiatives related to clinical trial disclosure and data transparency.
Develops the members of the Global Data Dissemination, Publications and Transparency team, ensuring they achieve their full potential and have the necessary skills, capabilities, and experiences to excel in these areas.

Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor degree required
Advanced degree in scientific or medical field preferred. If advanced degree is in a different discipline, experience and demonstrated ability in medical communication and/or publishing is required.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, inspire and develop diverse, cross-functional teams that operate across geographies in a highly matrixed, multi-cultural global organization.
At least 15 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, academic and/or medical research environments in one or more domain.
An organized, independent, self-motivated individual with exceptional presentation, written and oral communication skills able to tailor presentations to knowledge level of the audience to suit their needs and maximize understanding on the topic.
Executive presence and ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Knowledgeable of the clinical, commercial, regulatory and environmental issues that impact the Global Data Dissemination, Publications and Transparency domains.
Strong understanding of US and EU requirements for clinical trial disclosure as well as other related policies.
Familiarity and ease working with and discussing scientific data.
Proven ability to devise and manage metrics/scorecards to measure effectiveness and document impact of initiatives.
Must have excellent customer-service orientation and ability to think innovatively and creatively.
