Pfizer's Global Financial Solutions (GFS) Shared Services is a well-established operation with beginnings in Memphis, Tenn., in 1997. Part of the GFS network, the Decision Support Center of Excellence (DS CoE) is a centralized Finance department with locations in the US, UK, China and Costa Rica. The DS COE provides comprehensive financial reporting, financial support and guidance to the commercial finance teams within each market for the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific Regions. The DS CoE encompasses the analytical and advisory activities performed by the Finance Organization, including Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, Business Strategy & Support, Financial Analysis, Data Validation & Reconciliation, Cost of Sales Analytics and Management Reporting.

The DS COE Lead, Americas, is responsible for the overall management of operations and oversight of all internal resources for the North American regions. This will involve designing appropriate plans, communications, meetings, etc., to ensure business needs are addressed and effective stakeholder management across Global FP&A and Market Finance teams for the North American Markets. The DS COE Lead is accountable for ongoing planning, executing, and measuring of the DS CoE operations to meet service level and budget requirements, including issue and risk management. Furthermore, the Lead is responsible for building, engaging and developing a talented team of professionals. The DS COE Lead will partner closely with senior Commercial finance Leaders across the region, ensuring coordination and alignment.

  • Leads the North America site of the Decision Support Center of Excellence (DS CoE), including overall management of operations and oversight of all internal resources

  • Responsible for supporting, partnering and ensuring coordination and alignment with senior Commercial Finance leaders across the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Global HQ/Regional finance organizations; in addition to Global Financial Operations functions (Operations Planning & Analysis at a Pfizer level, RDM, PGS, and Enabling Functions Finance Leadership Teams)

  • Designs appropriate plans, communications, meetings, etc., to ensure business needs are addressed and effective stakeholder management. This includes market/regional/global finance leaders across 3 markets as well as global FP&A HQ-based groups.

  • Responsible for ongoing planning, executing, and measuring of the DS CoE operations to meet service level and budget requirements, including issue and risk management

  • Play a key role in Finance talent development, working closely with senior finance leaders in the region to ensure the DS CoE is a source of talent and a venue for the professional development for the function

  • Oversees team operations to ensure that DS CoE deliverables and outcomes are implemented on-time, on-budget and satisfy the expectations of the leadership team as measured by clearly defined and mutually agreed SLAs

  • Manages a team of around 15 colleagues ensuring work is performed by the resource best suited to support a particular area of the business

  • Provides direct support to 3 distinct markets, Global FP&A organizations, and the Finance Leadership Teams in NYHQ

  • Provides direct oversight for DS CoE resources (including any projects and temporary resources) and related talent selection/development activities

  • Develops and maintains performance management expectations for direct reports and ensures same for organization; ensures proper alignment and coordination of site objectives with finance leaders, other DS CoE Site Leads and overall DS CoE organization; delivers feedback and coaching support as needed to develop colleagues/team

  • Continually seeks opportunities to benefit the Company through the DS CoE model and proposes appropriate scope, service delivery model, and structural adjustments as needed

  • Builds and maintains customer-driven relationships with market finance partners to ensure DS CoE service delivery meets business requirements and issues are addressed in an appropriate and timely fashion

  • Responsible for joint development and execution of Service Level Agreements, services catalogues, etc. with senior finance leaders

  • Oversees and reports to the Americas DS CoE Lead on the CoE on operations metrics regarding plan / budget and actual performance (e.g. quality, cost, time) and makes recommended changes to metrics definitions as needed

  • Ensures DS CoE adheres to compliance with financial reporting and other regulatory areas, as required

  • Communicates on DS CoE site operational status, changes and/or risks to the Global DS CoE Lead primarily and eventually to GFS SLT and members of Commercial Finance and RDM Finance Leadership Teams

  • Prepares written reports and presentations of findings and recommendations pertaining to business decision support processes, tools or approaches to senior management; oversees the provision of adequate quality and caliber in presentations, commentary and other reports provided to customers as stipulated in the appropriate SLAs; uses influence and expert skills to communicate and align stakeholders around vision and recommendations

  • Works in partnership with the Americas DS CoE Lead, DS Steering Committee, and other relevant stakeholders to develop risk mitigation or contingency plans as needed

  • Assists the Americas DS CoE Lead in development and oversight of site budget, adjusting as needed to attain overall GFS Financial objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required , MBA and/or CPA preferred

  • 8+ years experience in a decision support/business analysis, finance, and/or project management roles

  • Experience successfully navigating a large organization and managing multiple stakeholder interests

  • Strong leadership abilities; proven visionary thinking with a clear ability to construct, energize and manage a large team of colleagues

  • Strong understanding of business support finance operations, requirements and needs; Prior decision support experience is highly desirable

  • Very strong analytical capabilities

  • Clear ability to innovate and drive change

  • Experience managing a Business Process Outsourcing vendor(s) or other outsource providers

  • Strong knowledge of project management models and tools

  • Strong understanding of Finance Management Reporting & Analysis processes and reports

  • Pfizer decision support experience in management reporting, planning, budgeting and forecasting preferred
