Our Drug Safety Research and Development (DSRD) organization is excited to present an opportunity for a 3-month internship to augment the candidates' PhD research project.
This Intern position will be responsible for:
Working closely with a lead scientist to develop and execute a research program
Evaluating new technologies, assays and scientific/regulatory advancements as needed to achieve research program
Analysis and summarization of research
Effective communication and collaboration with local and global peers
The DSRD Intern position is a temporary (3-month) position at one of the Pfizer Drug Safety Research and Development (DSRD) sites (Groton, La Jolla or Andover) and can occur throughout the year. The DSRD organization is a comprehensive nonclinical safety organization with research areas including biomarkers, computational toxicology, developmental and reproductive toxicology, genetic toxicology, general toxicology, safety pharmacology, immunotoxicology, and microphysiological systems, along with numerous specialized areas utilizing world class equipment, facilities and scientists.
Delivery of robust, high quality data to support the research program.
Scientific evaluation of new technologies, assays and advancements that will enhance research program
Technical expertise in the specific domain areas (biomarkers, investigative toxicology, etc)
Communication and collaboration with Pfizer local and global peers in DSRD and partnering lines
Utilization of strong foundation in general scientific practice and in the principles and concepts of a toxicology discipline
Recognized as a competent technical contributor
Uses established procedures, technologies and methodologies, may reduce to practice novel approaches
Active graduate student enrolled in PhD program in Toxicology, or related field of study. Completed at least 1st year of PhD program
Candidates must submit their CV and a cover letter (1-2 pages) describing their research interests and how this internship would benefit their education. The cover letter ideally would address the scope of the research project that could be conducted at Pfizer and identify opportunities to continue the research collaboration as part of their PhD program. In addition, a letter of support from their PhD advisor is required
