Pfizer Tax Manager/ Senior Manager in Beijing, China


Tax planning and tax compliance

  • Monitor China tax and financial legislation changes, determine the impact and communicate to manage the impact of legislative changes;

  • Lead daily tax tasks, including tax filing, forecast and analyzing, ensure high standards of tax compliance with tax regulations, accounting principles, corporate policies and procedures;

  • Interface with local tax authorities and government agencies on tax assessments, tax audits and any relevant tax issues;

  • Interface with global tax team, global TP CoE team, and coordinate with local functions for transfer pricing policy and other global tax policies interpretation and local implementation;

  • Assist on Pfizer global initiated merge and acquisition initiatives including joining local financial or tax analysis, data preparation and implementation;

  • Assist on the legal entity service agreement arrangement including charge model and rate of service fee set up so as to obtain the most tax efficiency;

  • Lead project to obtain most favorable tax treatment to different business lines including VAT zero rate application, high-tech company qualification to enjoy most favorable tax treatment;

  • Assist on or obtain government subsidies to improve company financials.

  • Interface and working with Customs authorities to ensure the most favorable duty tax treatment;

Prepare tax reports/analysis within required schedule.

Business support

  • Provide tax advisory to business units and controllers, HR, keep updated with China tax laws and regulations;

  • Support local initiated business development deal discussion and decision making including local M&A, in-licensing, co-promotion or co-marketing deals. To get the most benefit for Pfizer and also ensure the deal is sustainable;

  • Answer internal and external tax related queries.


  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Tax or other relevant subjects.

  • Minimum 6 years tax experience in Big 4 or other tax firms, with tax work experience in multi-national companies is preferred.

  • Working experience in major ERP system like Oracle or SAP is desired.

  • Hard working, self-demanding and result/task-oriented.

  • High degree of integrity with the ability to handle confidential and sometimes highly sensitive matters in an appropriate manner.

  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills

  • Proficient in both spoken and written English

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
