Pfizer Technical Associate, Pilot Process Technician in Andover, Massachusetts

ROLE SUMMARY

The Andover Pilot Facility process technician will be part of a diverse team of scientists, engineers and technicians focused on the scale up and optimization of mammalian cell culture processes to enable the production of toxicology drug substance and process development material in support of Pfizer's Biotherapeutics portfolio.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting unit operations as needed including setup, execution, and evaluation of non-GMP unit operations such as bioreactors, centrifugation, filtration, chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration and final fill.

  • Preparation and autoclaving parts and tubing sets, etc

  • Executing CIP, SIP, aseptic sampling, parts washing, inventory management, documentation, work order generation, and data entry/evaluation.

  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of various types of equipment (blood gas analyzers, cell analyzers, bioreactors, pH meters, etc.) including calibration, ordering of supplies and spare parts, and interfacing with vendors for repairs as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree, or BS/BA in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent.

  • Experience in a laboratory environment (bioprocess, chemistry, or analytical lab) or a manufacturing setting, preferred.

  • Demonstrated capability to work as a team member in a matrix development team.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Operational knowledge of computerized systems.

  • Experience with bioreactors, fermenters, automated chromatography systems, or analytical equipment.

  • Experience with large-scale manufacturing equipment such as stainless or single-use bioreactors, tanks, and mixers.
