Pfizer Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineer in Albany, Georgia


Responsible for Reliability Engineering efforts for all production, and

packaging manufacturing equipment at the Albany Site.

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving the maintenance related uptime and operating efficiencies of equipment assets.

Under the supervision of the Engineering Lead, this person is responsible for work planning, scheduling, MRO management, management of contractors, vendor activities, operation and maintenance of equipment.

The person will have strong own-it focus for "Zero Defect" with an emphasis on continuous improvement in a compliance oriented regulated business.

In addition, this individual will be responsible for applying efficient end use technologies to the operation with the goal of reducing operating costs. Includes integrating systems, applying predictive technologies when appropriate, while optimizing a system's operational performance, life cycle cost, and payback.

This person is also responsible for identifying and managing maintenance related and small capital projects from conceptual phases through full implementation/validation.



  • Implement a site based reliability program

  • Facilitate development of maintenance strategies for all equipment.

  • Monitor the status of the reliability maintenance program though stablished KPIs (i.e.: proportion of work - planned/scheduled, emergency work, MTBF, OEE, etc)

  • Responsible for maintenance work planning, scheduling and MRO. Proposes maintenance budget recommendations.

  • Provides maintenance input to Engineering Design. Manages maintenance and small capital projects (as assigned)

  • Develop procedures and specifications for the reliability and maintenance aspects of existing and new equipment

  • Provides technical and practical assistance to other departments, and provides training to less experience technical personnel.

Reliability Excellence:

  • Leads and is responsible for the execution of reliability excellence/maintenance program.

  • Writes and maintains reliability maintenance strategy documents.

  • Conducts equipment evaluations to determine optimum maintenance strategies.

  • Administers preventive and predictable programs, such as thermography, vibration analysis, lubrication, etc.

  • Provides technical analysis and troubleshooting to support "day-to-day "operations.

  • Facilitates failure analysis (FMECA, RCM, RCA, etc)

  • Analyzes and facilitates the identification and communication of losses in the operation processes.

  • Conducts /equipment and PM audits on a periodic and as needed basis.

  • Assists in the development and authoring of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for process/equipment maintenance activities.

  • Supports commissioning activities for all upgrade, renovation, and construction projects.


  • Minimum Bachelor's of Science degree from accredited Institution in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or appropriate scientific discipline. Master Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is desirable

  • 5-10 years maintenance/reliability experience in a regulated manufacturing environment

  • Strong technical skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Advance knowledge of different maintenance strategies (PM, CM, TMB, etc)

  • Experience with maintenance budgeting and MRO management.

  • Experience w/ predictive maintenance technologies including, but not limited to, vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared, thermography, ultra sound and motor current analysis.

  • Proficient in the use of CMMS systems (EAMS, SAP, etc)

  • Project Management experience- Plus

  • Supervision experience -Desirable

  • Practical mechanical design software knowledge such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc is a plus.

  • Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional is desirable.

  • Working knowledge of cGMP, OSHA and EPA regulations applicable to the medical device industry is a plus.


Needs to be able to sit/stand/walk in both an office environment and production floor/lab/warehouse settings.


Needs to be able to support a 24/5, 24/6 or 24/7 operation.
